The United States is taking part, actually we are doing all the heavy lifting. We are conducting tons of targeted strikes, counterintelligence and logistics interference missions every day. Now when you say "Army" I'm assuming you mean military. The reason our army isn't getting involved is because we don't want to risk our men's lives again while the rest of the world condemns us as invaders and does nothing to help but reaps the benefits of the incursions. Let's also remember how this bullshit went in the Iraq war. The assholes will just melt back into the general population making it impossible to distinguish who the terrorists are until occupying forces leave and then they pop out again and start their Muslim bullshit back up again. A ground war against a non-state organization based around an ideology isn't a viable ground war target in the long run for a non-occupying nation. That however leaves the middle eastern militaries out of the equation. They have all the motivation in the world to take over the ground war but they're hoping to defer the costs to the western world and not take responsibility for their retarded religions effects.
