Another right side taskbar noob. It makes no sense.
It must be due to my resolution, 1600x900. The vertical taskbar seems more accessible. I find it easier and more efficient to navigate through the vertical taskbar compared to the horizontal taskbar.

A vertical taskbar makes perfect sense on the left side. It gives more vertical screen space for vertically oriented windows like browsers or word editors. But only if it's on the left side. On the right side, it interferes with easy access to the close button on maximized windows. Instead of of just moving the mouse up and right all the way to the top corner to close a window, you have to actually pay attention to where you move the mouse and place it on the X carefully. Seems insignificant until you multiply it by several thousand times.
